Mr Doug Hoey (RPh, MBA), President of the World Pharmacy Council:
“The World Pharmacy Council (WPC) extends its deepest sympathies to the people of Spain affected by the devastating floods. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, those who have been injured, and all who have been displaced from their homes.
'Thoughts are also with Spanish people who have lost businesses. More than 200 pharmacies have been impacted.
“Community pharmacies play a crucial role in times of crisis, providing essential healthcare services and support to those in need.
“We commend the efforts of pharmacists and pharmacy staff across Spain who are working tirelessly to ensure communities continue to have access to vital medications and healthcare services during this challenging time.
“We stand in solidarity with the Spanish people and the healthcare professionals on the front lines.
“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this disaster. Together, we will work towards rebuilding and providing the necessary support to help communities recover and thrive once again.”
